Circumcision in Indonesian archipelago from an anthropological perspective

The aim of this thesis is to introduce phenomena of woman and man circumcision in historical and culture context in Indonesian archipelago. First part is about theoretical perception of circumcision. I will focus mostly on typology, history and geography. Second part will be about circumcision in Indonesia. Firstly I will concentrate on history of circumcision in the archipelago, which is known due to notes of Europe missioners during colonialist period. Then I will describe the most important reasons, which are religion and initiation. After that I will target on circumcision in present Indonesia and on social and culture impact caused by this practice. Last, but not least I will describe selected ethnics which still practice man circumcision.

The subject of the work is a theoretical and empirical analysis and interpretation of female circumcision. This distinct phenomenon is systematically analyzed with particular regard to the cultural area of Kurdistan. The work is divided into five separate chapters, and is partly based on the results of two field studies which the author carried out in Kurdistan. Judaistic Influences and Traditions in Ethiopian Orthodox Church

This work sets as a target investigation of the influence of Judaism in both, religious and personal life of Ethiopian Christians, in worship, traditions and in liturgy of EOC, now EOTC. There is possible to retrace expressive correspondences with Rabbinic Judaism, especially in its liturgy, consecration of Saturday, food regulations, circumcision, confirmation and in structural components of the churches (temples) of the church. Marco Bello in the public art collections of the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis deals with four paintings attributed to Marco Bello (a disciple of Giovanni Bellini) stored within public art collections of Czech Republic. The main emphasis is laid on detailed description which creates a basis for the following confrontation. The author gives information about provenance, literal occurrence, painting techniques, recent condition, undergone conservation treatment etc. for each of the works respectively. The present study also summarizes the basic literature concerning the painter as well as gives fragments of biographical data. A great attention is paid to Circumcision, the only signed author's piece of work and hence a natural pivot of any research on the Marco Bello's production. The attached chart gives an overview of the paintings attributed to the author and thus throws light on approach of respective researchers and their intersection. The present study lay on detailed photography of the four objective paintings.
